CIBC TFSA Interest Rate

The official tax free savings account interest rate for CIBC appears to be 3% as you can see here:

Similar to the information provided before too, there is a hefty $100 fee should you decide to transfer some or all your funds to a different financial institution. So for this bank you should really think it over before signing up.

I guess the main benefit is that if you already do your daily banking with them then it can make sense to keep everything in one place.

If you can’t hold mutual funds in the CIBC TFSA whats the point of having one.

Hey Tij,A lot of the big banks (but not CIBC) have rates like $6.95 flat fee per trade but that rate only applies if you have a poliofrto valued over $100K and you have more than 30 trade per quarter. To try to compare apples with apples, the analysis posted above was for maximum commission fees but I’ll add something soon for minimum commission fees and the requirements for getting that price.Robin
